In January I visited Portugal again with CAVAGO for the very first Global Horse Dreamtours. In 6 days I experienced some of the best of Portugal’s equestrian activities.

He is the coordinator of the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art, a teaching Judge for the Portuguese Equestrian Federation , a Level 3 Commissioner for the FEI and a member of the working group for the candidature of "Equestrian Art in Portugal" for UNESCO. He collaborated with Equitação magazine and Equitação TV, published several books and much and much more! All of this is todays podcast with the multifunction and talented Bruno Bruno Caseirão.

His passion for horses started in the early years of his life. He started riding as a child and his masters were Luis Valença and Dr. Guilherme Borba. In 1984, he joined the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art as a rider, where he continues to work and is currently a Mestre-Picador. He is also a riding instructor and trains riders of different nationalities in individual lessons in his stables in Lisbon.

Given his huge passion for horses and specifically for the Lusitano breed, he began as a breeder in 1989 when he founded the stud farm Lusitanos d’Atela.

His daughter Ines has had contact with horses since she was a baby. Having been brought up in the studfarm, she was keen to have a professional life in the equine industry too. She went on to study Veterinary Medicine at Lisbon University and then spent some years abroad gaining experience in different areas of the veterinary world.

Samen staan we sterker! Samen met de KNHS ben ik een integrale samenwerking aangegaan voor 2024.

Hierbij gaan we enkele educatieve activiteiten samen organiseren door middel van bijscholingen en clinics voor een breder publiek op het Nationaal Hippisch Centrum. Zodat IEDEREEN in Ermelo kan komen rijden.

Zo gaan we een aantal Global Horse & KNHS Clinics organiseren in diverse thema’s en die eerste clinic vind plaats op zondag 3 december met het thema Houding en zit (opleiding ruiter)

Een drietal toptrainers uit Nederland zullen die dag clinics geven aan iedere ruiter die het leuk vind om meer te leren. Op 3 december hebben we Malene Nooteboom, Mascha Reijs en Bart Bax geboekt voor de lessen.

En vandaag ben ik te gast bij één van die instructeurs om meer te weten over hem en zijn paardenleven. Hij is perfectionistisch, eigenwijs, hulpvaardig, leergierig, zorgzaam. Ik praat over niemand minder dan BART BAX

She started riding at 10 years old at a local riding school in Belgium and got her first pony when she moved back to England. She had an unexpected breakthrough when she won the Talent Spotting Finals in 1991 which proved her passion for dressage. Many horses followed! In 1998 she set up the famous shop Classic Dressage together with Julia Hornig. She is married to another great dressage icon Gareth Hughes and together they are the parents of the very talented Ruby Hughes! The three of them are a real horsey family and I known them for years!! Today I meet them again in Weert at the Equine Elite auction in Weert. Its nobody less then Rebecca Hughes and her daughter Ruby!!

Bij Van Gorp Diervoeders in Waalwijk produceren ze voor elk dier specifiek voer. En dat gaat ver. Alleen al voor paarden hebben ze honderd verschillende producten. Het familiebedrijf bestaat dit jaar 100 jaar! En in deze podcast verteld eigenaar Hans van Gorp over de start van zijn bedrijf en natuurlijk ook over Willy van Doornik. Een man die vele van ons kenden als de "paardendokter" en die jarenlang bij heel veel paardenbedrijven over de vloer kwam. Willy stierf in 2020 aan de gevolgen van Corona. In this episode you can listen to the amazing story of Júlio Borba. Júlio Borba - student of his father Júlio Borba, Luís Valença and his uncle Dr. Guilherme Borba – started to work at the EPAE (Escola Portuguesa de Arte Equestre) in 1992. During his twelve years at the School Júlio performed countless shows. In the shows that he took part at, he did; the quadrille, the Pas de Trois, Solo, Airs above the ground by hand (Piaffe, Levade and Capriole) and Airs above the ground ridden (Piaffe, Levade and Capriole). 

Júlio works with horses of any breed, on any level, of any discipline. Top professionals, like international and Olympic dressage riders, till eagerly amateurs.
