Shawn Soole is an accomplished bartender, restauranteur, business owner and podcast host. He shares with us the story of his path and how he learned from his past, the way his external environment shaped him and his decisions is his own story but, it's one we can learn from as well. Please listen closely and remember that your journey is unique but there's always something we can take from another persons story.
I'm so excited to have a fourth episode and an actual following no matter how big it is. Here it is in a shorter format for easier listening and unbridled chat format with a dear friend that inspires me. I hope that you can get something from this conversation about how to move through the obstacles that the universe throws at you and come out on the other side winning. If it weren't for these struggles, we would not be on the path we are now.
Oliver and I embark on a conversational whirlwind about all the things from the past and speculate as how it will effect us in the future in the terms of lockdowns for a fourth wave. To be honest, this isn't the biggest takeaway from this conversation. Really, how we invest our time into life and what we take away from it is what's most important. Oliver is a successful business owner in the food and beverage industry, he's seen it all, done it all. We get pretty deep, crude and rude. Enjoy and remember this is a safe space for conversation and what was talked about in the past is just that. We are making the best of the way things are right now and moving forward.
The second episode no doubt is about some pretty dark stuff once again. Unbeknownst to us we get into some ways to see through that darkness and shed some light onto the path and enjoy the process. Gerry is a long time veteran of the food and beverage industry, he’s won a rap battle in Toronto’s ghettos and crushed it with Jack Daniels as a brand ambassador. But what he shares with us is the reality of what goes on in the background. Living out of a car, dealing with anxiety and alcoholism. It’s a one-stop-shop for learning from the greats in this second episode of Hospitality 4 Humanity.
Welcome to the first of many conversations with food and beverage professionals. The idea is, as you will hear, that it's a safe space to share with others, what you have gone through in your career and life. It's a way to pay it forward to a younger generation, to allow others that are going through similar things to feel connected with their peers.
Devin Blaney talks about growing up in a broken home, setting boundaries, dealing with health and navigating employment in what is possibly a defunct industry. Let's dive in and see how the first episode plays out.
