Cargo Culting took over. Basically, mimicking some of the steps taken to achieve a result. In the context of cargo cults, they saw planes fly in and land on airstrips and the planes brought goods, so they built their own “airstrips” in the hopes that the planes would redirect to their “airstrip” and give them the goods instead.

TL;DR: Prioritizing a process that ultimately serves no real purpose over understanding a situation and adapting accordingly.

e.g. “We build a thing that looks like an airstrip, and we build a thing that looks like a plane, and then cargo will be magically delivered to us.”

Many moons ago, on a somewhat questionable forum, a theory emerged. A theory about the state of the internet itself. In today's episode, we will be diving into what is known as "The Dead Internet Theory".
