Former Vice President Mike Pence has expressed strong opposition to the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) by President-elect Donald Trump. Pence's opposition is primarily due to Kennedy's pro-abortion stance, which he believes is a significant departure from the pro-life record of the Trump-Pence administration. Pence argued that Kennedy's career has been marked by support for abortion on demand throughout all nine months of pregnancy and efforts to restore Roe v. Wade. Pence urged Senate Republicans to reject this nomination, emphasizing that the pro-life movement has traditionally looked to the Republican Party to defend the right to life[2][4][5].
In addition to his stance on the HHS nomination, Pence recently addressed students and faculty at Colorado Christian University, where he discussed his conservative values, the importance of traditional marriage, and his commitment to faith and freedom. He also highlighted the challenges faced by conservatives and the need to uphold traditional values[1].
Pence's comments come amid an ongoing rift with Trump, stemming from his refusal to overturn the 2020 election results, and his concerns about the direction of the Republican Party. Pence has been critical of certain voices within the GOP that he believes are pulling back from key conservative principles[3].

Rosie Perez, a renowned actress, choreographer, and longtime boxing enthusiast, has been in the spotlight for her role as a commentator in the highly anticipated boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. Nicknamed 'The First Lady of Boxing,' Perez brought her deep passion and knowledge of the sport to the broadcast booth. She commented alongside other distinguished figures such as Mauro Ranallo and Roy Jones Jr. The fight, which took place on Friday night in Dallas and aired live on Netflix, featured a significant age gap between the two fighters, with Jake Paul in his late 20s and Mike Tyson at 58. Perez, who has kept her love for boxing somewhat secret due to its perceived brutality, has been open about her own boxing training and experience. However, her commentary during the event received mixed reactions, with some fans mocking her while others appreciated her unique insights[1][5][3].
Perez's involvement in the event highlights her broad influence in both the entertainment and sports industries. Known for her acting and choreography work, including an Oscar nomination for her role in 'Fearless' and Emmy nominations for her choreography on 'In Living Color,' Perez has now made a mark in boxing commentary. Her presence in the broadcast team underscored the growing appreciation of boxing among diverse audiences and added a layer of expertise to the event[5].
During the undercard of the fight, Perez expressed her disbelief at an 'embarrassing moment,' reflecting her candid and engaged commentary style[2].

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Half-Life 2, which falls on November 16, 2024, NVIDIA has released a new trailer and announced several initiatives. The trailer showcases the upcoming Half-Life 2 RTX, a remastered version of the classic game developed by a 100-person mod team at Orbifold Studios. This remaster includes full ray tracing, remastered assets with significantly increased detail (world textures have 8x the pixels and assets like the suit have 20x the geometric detail of the original), and DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction. The game is set to be released as a free DLC for Half-Life 2 owners.
NVIDIA is also hosting a giveaway for a custom-wrapped GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER graphics card featuring Gordon Freeman and his iconic crowbar. To enter, fans need to like the post and reply with the #HalfLife2RTX hashtag on X, Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok.
The development of Half-Life 2 RTX leverages NVIDIA's RTX Remix tools, which allow the team to bypass the limitations of the original engine and implement modern AAA workflows, including Physically Based Rendering (PBR) materials, fully ray-traced reflections and refractions, and volumetric fog with dynamic lighting and shadows.
The game is currently available for wishlisting on Steam, but the release date has not been announced.
