Hot Pot Poddie

On this episode of Hot Pot Poddie, we sit down with legendary producer and engineer Sylvia Massy. She formally received a Grammy in 2024 for her engineering/mixing work on Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit's Weathervanes.

We dive into her incredible 45 year career working with artists like Tool, Johnny Cash, Prince and System of a Down. We chat about recording experimentation, vintage microphones, and her new book The Great Vintage Microphone Book. We also got the goods on her favorite mic for female vocals, the RCA KU3A ribbon mic.

Sylvia also shares stories about her all girl band in San Francisco, her Studio Confidential chats, teaching with Abbey Road Institute in Mumbai. Finally, we learned about some wonderfully strange topics, including running audio through a potato and her dinosaur egg she bought in Florida.

Today folks we are on the edge of our seats with this heavy hitting guest that’s no stranger to the Colorado music scene. Today, we bring you the lead show stopper from Wheelchair Sports Camp. This genre bending, punk-powered hip-hop project is fronted by Kalyn Rose Heffernan - a wheelchair-using, profanely queer and tiny rapper, with a very distinctly high-pitched sense of humor.

In this episode of Hot Pot Poddie Podcast, we dive into her experience in the Colorado music scene, her creative process, and what it means to show up unapologetically as an artist.

Saddle up, let’s ride! It's time for another episode of Hot Pot Poddie, with your hosts Jenn Tatro and Brooke Holman. This podcast is all about women in music. So, hit that follow, like and subscribe button and don’t miss a beat.

Today’s guest is bringing the vibes, the energy and hopefully a 7-Eleven taquito in hand. We’re talking about someone who is not only a staple on the Denver airwaves, but also a huge supporter of the local music scene. She's constantly showing love to artists and helping keep the live music scene going strong in this city. She’s traveled across the country as a Radio DJ/Radio Host, getting a real taste of what it’s like to influence people in completely different cities and cultures and somehow making it look effortless. If you’ve ever turned on the radio, to Indie 102.3, and instantly felt a little better about your day, there’s a good chance it’s because of her. She brings positivity, humor and genuine hope over the airwaves in a way that feels real, not forced. So get ready to laugh, get inspired and maybe crave a gas station snack or two.

Please give a big, loud Hot Pot Poddie welcome to the one and only Dana Meyers.
