The Nuggets played in a thriller last night in Madison Square Garden, but came out on the losing end, falling to the Knicks, 134-127 in double overtime. Peyton Watson hurt his hamstring in the loss and is expected to miss some time. How significant would it be if Watson had to miss four weeks? With all these injuries, is it starting to feel like it’s just going to be one of those seasons where it’s just not meant to be for the Nuggets? The Avalanche wrapped up their final game before the Olympic Break, beating the Sharks 4-2. Should there be more confidence in the Avs or Nuggets winning a title or neither of them? Sean Payton has named Davis Webb the new Broncos offensive coordinator and Logan Kilgore the new QB coach. Was part of the agreement for Webb to come back have to do with calling some plays or all the plays? Would handing over the full-time play-calling duties to Webb make Payton a better head coach? Broncos have some updates to their offensive coordinator search, as Davis Webb has withdrawn from the Raiders head coaching position. And Pete Carmichael has taken the OC job with the Bills. Bo Nix spoke to the media yesterday and contradicted Sean Payton, who said the surgeon found there was something predisposed within the ankle and that the injury and procedure was a matter of when, not if. Nix didn’t have to address the media yesterday, but it seemed like he wanted to do it to clear up what Payton said about his ankle. Greg Penner also spoke to the media yesterday and said the Broncos will be “aggressively opportunistic” this offseason in addressing player needs, but it's important that the player fit the locker room culture. As Sean Payton looks for a new offensive coordinator, he will limit his options if he hires someone who won’t be able to call plays.
