Elements of a Dancer.. A combination of old progressive trance dance tunes with a small sprinkling of current clubby numbers and far too many Xtian Edits

A very easy, meant to get you off your feet, festive and unashamadely commercial set.. 

I originally intended to publish the Shanghai Progressions Pt.2 back in September, had staggered the publishing of the uploads in order not to overload anyone but somehow it got lost in-between the cloud and the Chinese firewall. So be it! Lost forever.. Then, life got busy and I had no time to even think about tunes let alone mix anything..

A fortnight ago a friend reminded me that Xmas was approaching and that a new set would be a nice festive gesture.. Here it is my (one day..) cycling buddy! Hope you find it motivating enough to take on a ride and not too commercial for your discerning ears though... I did want something fun and not too heady, one which would nicely fit on a CD for the family to listen to during the holidays.

A lot of post-production for the Xtian’s Edits, a few gratuitous, a couple acceptable!

My personal favourites are "Things We Might Have Said" and "Destiny".. Not to miss! The former one being one of my pick for perfectly produced tune of 2016.. As for the latter, if you like melodic progressive trance, the Markus Schulz tune is one for you..

Mini-series at the confines of Progressive House and Trance. Still from Shanghai. At this time of writing I am not sure if I will leave the chopped 2 x 45 seconds of electro in tunes 10. I tried to restructure the tunes to take out as much of it as I could but had to leave the build.

New tunes interspaced with some remixes of well-known favs of mine, not quite sure it this set is an absolute must have download, but seems I am gearing up to a trance set in a couple of weeks.

I have staggered the publishing schedule of all the sets I have uploaded lately for no one to incur insane data charges. But I have to admit that I am a bit lost in the schedule. I believe there is another one to appear on your feed before I get to something new.

Third iteration of the same nocturnal progressive vibe Shanghai appears to inspire.

Darker, with a lot less vocal tracks than my usual offering, well suited for the few insomniacs who are listening. Mostly current, with a couple of newish remix of old favourites of mine.

Continuing the Shanghai Nocturnal sessions with Episode 2. Keeping the Progressive house vibe going but sexier and with a tinge of Nu-Disco club flavour.

Always liked “Sunlight” melodic line, cheesy it may very be but can’t take away the catchy chorus. Gordon City’s “Ready for Love” is a nu-disco classic.

“Revered” not sure I actually like the tune yet let’s see if anyone picks up from where the piano riff is sampled from?

But 3 tracks outshine the rest: first “Strike me Down” absolute gem in a progressive soulful crossover, Big Days and Martijn’s recent remix of the House classic Guitarra G… Very nice indeed.

Shanghai Nocturnals Ep.1

Scouring through the progressive genre on my HD whilst in Shanghai. Sometimes chilled, sometimes dark, sometimes happy but hopefully always cool progressive tunes.

XXL Vocal Deep House.. Three hours of non-boring, original and mostly current Vocal Deep House tunes.. Have to mention vocal to preempt the comments of the Deep House purists..

Another set which I had on recorded on the HD only to have forgotten it.. I stream it today whilst looking the Shanghai/Pudong skyline and thought it was a pity not to have published it at the time.

Hop in and out of it as you please but if you have 3 hours to devote to making yourself feel (and consequently feel better) just lock it in your player and deep in and out of it as you please. I promise that all the tunes have their own merit and this set is absolutely not sequential therefore the order does not really matter. Just listen!

In Shanghai for a few days and uploading a few sets I had either started to fiddle with a few months back.

If you ever go to Shanghai, get yourselves to the Bund and go up to " le Bar Rouge", where 19th century architecture meets Uber Cool 21st Century Asia.

Mostly very current main floor tunes with a chopped beats twist, which is meant to get you on your feet.

Apart from a very brutal transition from second last to last, I quite like this one.

I most probably will get a few sets recorded whilst here, so keep tuned.

Satisfied with its very current playlist and twisted semi-underground main floor feel. Check Wild Orchid, Eagle Eyes, Tell Me No Lies and Do you. And see what the Cube Boys can do with classics, it is quite clever.

As some may have noticed I have not touched any Soulful House for more than half a year. I could not even attempt to put any soulful sets together so bored and actually literally without any emotions about any soulful tunes I was listening to. Not receptive, no challenge and felt no purpose.

Yet during my July break, whilst riding a bike in 37C heat, on a high gradient, suffering hell, I chose to listen to his latest set, deep & soulful and “Εύρηκα”... I finally got that warm feeling again, which can only be brought by listening to quality soulful deep house. Thank you Gilberto, without your help, this state of creative impotence could have lasted a lot longer.

Oddly though I had a lot of new tunes to choose from this one contains a lot of oldies, can't figure out why but fun to hear them again.

Without a doubt the Hungarian Max & Sims’ rendition of “Soul Fever” is the absolute standout of the set. Stellar tune, Echodust is an amazing vocalist and the production of Director’s cut standard. I started the set with their remix and ended it with AM2PM’s version with a different vocalist which is not bad either.

Both Marc Evans’ jams, “Beneath The Crescent Moon” and “Felt Like Heaven” are soulful house heaven with his unmistakable voice and inspired melodies. Marc Evans is the Barry White of this century and I actually rate him immensely higher as a singer song writer and producer, all in one go, with lyrics have meaning to boost his already immense talent.

Former last instalment of Beach/Pool tunes live from the Nysia pool in the island of Spetses, Greece.

More rhythmic but still very sundrenched and Beach House.

Similar format as step 1 and 2 new cuts of old favourites or brand new tunes buried in my hard drive. No other ambition but to entertain and hopefully make you feel the warmth of the Aegean sun. I will continue to clean up my hard drive for a couple then get into something more ambitious.
