Battleground of Mareshah is an attack of the Ethiopian army on the nation of Judah when King Asa was ruling the southern kingdom of Judah. Here we see Zerah, the cushite coming against Asa, the king of Judah. The particular battle is taking place in the Valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.

Many battles are mentioned in the Bible. But the largest army assembled was that of Zerah the Ethiopian. He had 1,000,000 experienced soldiers. The Ethiopians outnumbered Asa’s army by double. You can imagine how easy it would have been for Asa to become anxious and fearful and to let his hands drop down in defeat. Instead, Asa immediately turned to God for help.

From a military point of view, it would seem impossible to overcome the Ethiopians, yet “with God all things are possible.”

These are the three strategies Asa used in this battle.

Strategy 1: Let the enemy know that you are ready for the battle, so step out.

Strategy 2: Settle your weaknesses with the Lord, don't expose them to your enemy

Strategy 3: Your personal revelation of God is the secret of victory

Battle of Berachah was an attack of the enemy that brought a great fear among the people of Judah during the reign of King Jehoshaphat. We read this story in 2 Chronicles 20.

We found out who were the enemies - the Moabites, and the Ammonites, and their auxiliaries.

We talked about the significance of the location of the battle.

We understood who was Jehoshaphat.

As Jehoshaphat was leading the army, the Lord destroyed their enemies even before the battle started.

Following are the different strategies adopted in the battle by King Jehoshaphat & his army.

Strategy 1: Seek God when you are afraid.

Strategy 2: Seek God with all your household

Strategy 3: When you are in the battle, discern when to shout and when to stay silent

Strategy 4:You may stand still, but let the worship continue

Strategy 5: Gather the spoil once the enemy is destroyed

A mind boggling destruction of the city of Ziklag and the captivity of the wives and children of David and his men.

David was taken into the extremes of life where he ran to escape death from the hands of Saul, lost his wives as captives, his city is burnt with fire, now the men with him are about to stone him to death. What else one needs to be brought to the lowest of his / her life.

In this situation, Bible says, David strengthened himself in the Lord.

Life challenges, unexpected events, worry concerning future, loss of health, loss of hope make us to get upset about our life at times.

David followed different strategies to come out of the situation and to fight against the Amalekites to redeem his loss.

Strategy 1: Admit your circumstances

Strategy 2: Come out of your Circumstances

Strategy 3: Stand up against your circumstances

Strategy 4: Don't allow your circumstances to narrow your sight

When you are lonely, God wants you to project that He is your best companion

When you are afraid, God wants you to project that He is your protector.

We read about the battleground of Ai in the book of Joshua Ch. 7 & 8

Battle of Ai is one of the battles where children of Israel lost their battle. We read that in Joshua 7. When they realized their mistake and corrected themselves, God turned their defect into victory. We read that in Ch, 8.

The enemy within is greater and mightier than the enemy out there.

A. Enemy within must be identified

What was Achan's sin?

1. Covetousness (Greediness)

B.Enemy within must be utterly destroyed

When the enemy within is killed, God destroys the enemy out there.

Jericho was an obstacle to possess the promised land. They may not be a threat, but an obstacle. God didn't want to ignore the obstacle and move forward.

God wants us to deal with those obstacles in your life.

The enemy is very passive, but remember he is not your friend.

But remember inside the devil is afraid of you as you are a child of God.

You need to cast him out with that one little word "Jesus".

How do we deal with Jericho like enemy?

1. Obey:

• Confess any disobedience to the Lord

• Obey in those areas where God wants you to obey

2. Believe:

• Confess any disbelief to the Lord

• Believe in God and on His promises

• Increase your faith level

3. Shout:

• Now clap your hands, lift up your voices and make a joyful shout to the Lord.

• You will see the walls tumbling down

Battling against Generational Curses.

Rephidim is a place where Children of Israel defeated Amalekites.

Amalekites are the hereditary enmities the devil has caused in your life and in your family that is running through the blood line from one generation to the next generation.

Fighting against the Amalek (generational curses)

• Holding the Shield of Faith

• Fighting with the Sword of the Spirit

• Praying against those curses as a team

• Slaying the Amalek by the Word of God

• By taking authority

• By claiming His Promises and

• By speaking the Word against the attacks.

If God would not have parted the red sea, Pharaohs army would have killed all the Israelite or they would have jumped into the red sea one by one and died or they would have been taken back into bondage.

As Pharaoh was trying to destroy God's people, the devil is trying to destroy your family. He has determined to drag the entire family along with him into the lake of fire.

In the battleground of Red Sea, children of Israel won. Today the devil is fighting in your mind and body. Don't worry, God has already sent the deliverer, He is going to part the red sea for you.

Life itself is a battleground.

Old Testament believer Vs New Testament believer

• Journey of God's children from Egypt to Canaan in the OT represents the journey of the NT believers from birth till eternity.

• If that is true, the physical battle children of God fought were the foreshadow of the spiritual battle we are fighting as a NT believer.

• If the mountains, the valleys and the deserts were the battlegrounds of children of Israel, no doubt that today our mind, soul and body are the battlegrounds where we encounter our enemy
