The new generation bikie is likely to be seen wearing sporting apparel and attending raves, while gang-related violence becomes more prevalent and public.

That's the view of Professor Mark Lauchs, from Queensland University of Technology's School of Justice, who has been looking at the changing face of gang violence and its insurgence across Australia.

He told Gary Adshead, in for Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings, that violence associated with the new generation of outlaw motorcycle gangs is becoming more public, rather than behind the scenes as was previously tradition.
