Kiwi tech entrepreneur Daniel Batten has an intriguing thesis. He sees Bitcoin as an unexpected superhero - his view is that Bitcoin mining can drive us to 70% renewables-based energy consumption by 2030.

Bitcoin mining could be the catalyst to drive the increased adoption of renewable energy this decade. Bitcoin miners are location agnostic, time-of-day-agnostic, and have an insatiable appetite for both existing and new energy production.
