In this episode, I'm addressing a client's question about supporting a roommate with diabetes who may be using a prescribed GLP-1 beyond its intent. GLP-1s are valuable for blood sugar management, but I do have concerns about limited long-term data, higher dosing, inadequate screening (including for eating disorders), insufficient medical monitoring, GI side effects, malnutrition risks, and potential impacts on muscle and bone health. I recommend approaching the friend with non-confrontational concern, listening without offering advice, respect body autonomy, and recognize change may only happen when the person is ready.
