This morning, someone asked me a question that was both sweet and deeply honest. She said, “How can I make sure my child has a really boring testimony?”

And I knew exactly what she meant...

She was not saying she wanted her child’s life to be dull. She was not asking for a life with no purpose, no passion, no impact, and no story to tell.

What she meant was, “How do I keep my child from having to be rescued from something devastating?”

How do I keep them from addiction?

How do I keep them from rebellion?

How do I keep them from making choices that leave scars?

How do I help them love Jesus early, walk with Him faithfully, and avoid some of the pain that so many people experience before they finally come home to God?

I understood the heart behind her question because I think most Christian parents have prayed some version of it. I know I have - and in this episode I try to answer it. ;-)
