We’ll also explore practical ways to break the habit, create healthier boundaries with our phones, and learn to pause long enough to recognize what our hearts truly need. Because sometimes the most helpful thing we can do is put the phone down, quiet the noise, and spend a few moments with the One who already knows exactly what we’re carrying.

We all want people who will pray for us, encourage us, celebrate us, and stand beside us. And we should want those things. They are beautiful gifts in friendship...

But do we also have someone in our life who can say, “I love you, but I think you may be wrong here”? And if so - are we willing to listen?

How many times do I feast on the bitter things of this world when my soul desires the sweet things of God? Too many to be honest….

What she meant was, “How do I keep my child from having to be rescued from something devastating?”

How do I keep them from addiction?

How do I keep them from rebellion?

How do I keep them from making choices that leave scars?

How do I help them love Jesus early, walk with Him faithfully, and avoid some of the pain that so many people experience before they finally come home to God?

I understood the heart behind her question because I think most Christian parents have prayed some version of it. I know I have - and in this episode I try to answer it. ;-)

There is a kind of loneliness that can be difficult to explain to people who have never experienced it. It is the loneliness of trying to raise children to know and love Jesus when you feel like you are the only adult in your home who is intentionally pointing them toward Him.
