Are you tired, discouraged, or wondering whether it’s time to walk away? In this episode of Jayne with a Y, we explore the difference between needing to rest, needing to redirect, and truly being led by God to release something. Before making a permanent decision in a temporary season of exhaustion, pause and ask God for wisdom. He is faithful to lead you one step at a time.
Have you ever noticed how there are seasons in life when you don’t feel like you’re really thriving… mostly you’re just trying to make it until bedtime?
I mean, you still love Jesus. You still believe He’s good. But if you’re being honest, you’re running on fumes.
Maybe you’re carrying grief that doesn’t seem to get lighter..
Maybe your marriage feels strained.
Maybe your finances have become overwhelming.
Or maybe nothing catastrophic has happened at all - you’ve just been carrying so much for so long that your soul is tired.
I think sometimes Christians feel guilty admitting that.
We hear messages about victory and overcoming, and while every one of those promises is true, we quietly wonder, “What if today I don’t feel victorious? What if today I’m just… coping?”
Have you ever noticed that some questions are really easy to answer for other people... but incredibly hard to answer for ourselves?
If a friend came to you in tears and said, "I really messed up. I made a terrible decision. Do you think God still loves me?" I have a feeling you wouldn't hesitate for a second.
You'd open your Bible. You'd remind her of God's grace. You'd tell her about the cross. You'd reassure her that nothing she has done is beyond the reach of Jesus.
But then something wild happens when the story is our own.
When it's our failure... our divorce... our addiction... our abortion... our affair... our angry words... our secret struggle... our years of running from God... suddenly all those promises we freely give to everyone else become harder to believe for ourselves.
We begin to wonder, I’m sure God forgives people like them... but surely He's different with me...
But what if He's not? Let's talk about it!
Have you ever wondered if God hears you at all? Maybe you've been praying for healing, restoration, direction, or someone you love, and the silence has left you asking, "God, where are You?"
In this episode of Jayne with a Y, we're talking honestly about one of the hardest questions every believer eventually asks: Why isn't God answering my prayers?
Together we'll discover that God's silence is not His absence, that waiting is not the same as being forgotten, and that sometimes His greatest work is happening in ways we simply can't see yet. Looking at the lives of David, Paul, and even Jesus, we'll be reminded that God always hears His children, even when His answer isn't the one we expected.
If you're weary from waiting or struggling to trust God's timing, this conversation is for you.
There is hope. God hasn't stopped listening, and He certainly hasn't stopped working on your behalf!
One of the questions I've heard more than almost any other is this:
"How do I know God is speaking to me?"
Maybe you've asked it too.
Maybe you're standing at a crossroads trying to make a decision. Maybe you're praying about a relationship, a job, a move, or a difficult conversation. You genuinely want to follow God's will, but underneath all of that is one lingering question:
"God...if You're trying to tell me something, how do I know it's really You?"
I've talked with so many believers who quietly worry they're going to miss God's voice. They're afraid He's speaking, but somehow they aren't listening well enough.
Can I encourage you with something today?
God is not trying to play hide-and-seek with His children.
We know we're called to pour out our lives for others. Jesus said to love our neighbors. Paul tells us to encourage one another, bear one another's burdens, and consider others above ourselves. But then there are seasons where you quietly wonder, "Lord...I don't even have enough for me today. How am I supposed to keep giving when I feel completely empty?"
I think the answer is found in one simple word: Overflow.
We were never meant to serve people out of our reserves. We were meant to serve them out of our relationship with Jesus.
What if God wants to point to your life as evidence of what His grace can do?
If you've ever wondered whether your ordinary life could make an eternal difference, this conversation is for you. Your story may be far more significant than you realize. God's grace wasn't just meant to save you - it was meant to shine THROUGH you.
Join me for a reminder that your faithfulness today may become someone else's hope tomorrow.
Waiting is one of the hardest parts of following Jesus. We pray, we hope, we trust... and then we wait. If you've ever wondered why God seems silent or why the answer hasn't come yet, this episode is for you.
In this encouraging conversation, Jayne takes a fresh look at Psalm 130:5: "I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word do I hope." Together we'll discover that waiting isn't wasted time, it's often where God does some of His deepest work in us. While we're waiting for God to change our circumstances, He's often changing our hearts, strengthening our faith, and teaching us to trust Him more deeply.
If you're waiting on healing, a prodigal child, a restored marriage, a new opportunity, or simply wondering what God is doing in this season, be reminded that God's delays are never God's absence. He is faithful, He is working, and He always keeps His promises.
Take a deep breath, settle in, and let's discover why waiting with God can become one of the most hope-filled seasons of our lives.
Have you ever found out that someone was talking about you behind your back? Few things hurt more than realizing your name has been part of a conversation you weren't invited into. The temptation is to replay every word, defend yourself, or let bitterness quietly settle into your heart.
In this episode of Jayne with a Y, we'll look at the surprising wisdom of Ecclesiastes 7:21–22 and discover why God tells us not to take every word spoken about us to heart. Together, we'll explore how to respond when gossip wounds us, why remembering our own need for grace changes everything, and how forgiveness can free us from carrying offenses we were never meant to hold.
If you've ever been hurt by someone's words - or you've found yourself wishing you could take your own words back - this conversation is a gentle reminder that your identity is not determined by other people's opinions. It's determined by the God who knows your heart and loves you completely.
Maybe your greatest ministry won't come from standing at the center of the crowd. Maybe it'll come from noticing the woman standing just outside of it.
