The king of Egypt makes it a law to kill Hebrew children. The Hebrew midwives are faced with a moral dilemma: Should they obey the civil law or God's moral law?  

Also in this chapter we see what happens to God's people when persecution increases.  While the people may not see God's hand at work, He is preparing a deliverer. 

• What happens when a culture loses God's moral compass? 
• How should we act when we get into a moral dilemma? 
• Does God care about the suffering of His people? 
• Can God use the evil acts of mankind to bring about His plans?
