Calgary city council approved a 1.6 per cent property tax increase for 2026. According to the city, the typical single-family home valued at $706,000 is expected to pay $2,741 in property taxes in 2026, an increase of $3.57 monthly. Moshe Lander, senior lecturer of economics at Concordia University gives his take.
