Dennis Barron joined us on the program to talk about free speech and how the first amendment isn’t always applicable. Dennis’s latest book You Can’t Always Say What You Want: The Paradox of Free Speech  puts today’s attempts to limit free speech into a historical perspective.

Dennis Baron is Professor of English, emeritus at University of Illinois He writes about the English language and the technologies of communication. His work has appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, among others. He has appeared on CNN, NPR, the BBC, the Voice of America, and the CBC.
