exodUS --- Exodus 7-11

Let's call them "miracles." What we usually refer to the Ten Plagues of Egypt in the Exodus account was far more than a punitive series of inconveniences. God brings Moses to Egypt not only to free the Israelites but also to show God's supremacy over the Egyptian pantheon and their king. It took supernatural defeats of the kind of control Egyptians believed their gods had. In order to best demonstrate this, God needed an especially stubborn man to ratchet up the stakes. He had help, but it was all for a purpose.
