For over a decade I lived in dorsal shutdown, disconnected and frozen. My healing didn’t happen overnight, it unfolded slowly, through isolation, creating space, and practices like restorative yoga, yin yoga, and yoga nidra. As I thawed, I moved into sympathetic activation where I had to face and heal the anger and fight responses in my body. This video shares how I healed my nervous system step by step, and what nervous system regulation really looks like in the real world. I’ll also explain how the vagus nerve works, and why understanding how the nervous system works is essential for long-term healing.
