Mr Robert McPheat (1933-1990) was converted at the age of 14 in 1947. Baptised and received into the assembly in Plains, Scotland, young Robert was greatly helped in his early days by his spiritual father, Mr John King. In a message on the life of Abraham’s wife Sarah, given in Crowle Gospel Hall in April 1984, Mr McPheat told the story of how he learned to pray in the days soon after he was saved, while working as a coal miner. Mr McPheat went out full time as a preacher in 1967 until the Lord called him home at the early ago of 57. He is greatly missed by all who knew and all who heard him.
