Wonderful heart touching listen

When I agreed to listen to this I didnt know what to expect, I thought it sounds interesting I will give it a listen. From the first page the author and narrator pulled me in to one outstanding read. I had never read anything by this author and was very surprised how well the story came together. This is a very serious plot with a lot of humor. I feel the accent most likely gave it more humor than it would have had if I had read it. Chloe Golden gave Quinn a sassy attitude more so than I think you would have gotten if you had read to it. I totally loved this, she hit the tones just right to make Quinn a much loved character. I feel by reading it I would have felt that she was just a pity me girl which she did not come across that way with the audio.

I would have to say when I first started listening to it I thought what have I gotten myself into. By the end of the first page I was hooked. By the ending I thought OMG it is going to be a cliffhanger. I really didnt think in the short time left in the book the author could pull off but she did much to my surprise and it was a wonderful ending. My hats off to Ms. Gaitan for writing a wonderful plot where the words flowed smoothly, putting humor just where it needs to be and giving a book well worth listening to. I found this to be very believable and could be out of todays headlines.

Quinn is trying to outrun her past and it is a big one with a lot of people not happy with her. You wont find out the full effect until later on. When I found out the whole story my heart broke for her, she is strong or once was but now is weak. It is hard when everything you hold dear is taken from you and you feel you are to blame, you give up, you dont know where to turn or who to trust. It was a pleasure watching her come out of her shell and grow to the person she once was. Quinn is a very sassy lady who isnt sure what she wants just wants to start over. One night changed her life years later another night will change her life forever. I loved that she knew the word NO and used it enough lol. I loved that she didnt run head into issues but thought them out. She was slow on the take but once things fell into place she worked it out nicely. Finding ones strength can be tough when you hit rock bottom.

Recipe for Satisfaction

I was almost completely satisfied by Recipe for Satisfaction. When it starts, Sterling is seasick on a yacht and runs into Toronto's most eligible, bad boy, bachelor. She had hopes of picking up a man that night, but not Jack, and certainly not while puking her guts out over the rail. But lucky for her, Jack sees something in her, and is also looking to get back on the saddle. They have one wild night, but it's not enough to satisfy either of them, so Jack comes up with a plan. A plan that could definitely backfire.

Recipe for Satisfaction was really good. I adored both Sterling and Jack, together and separately. I was especially invested in Sterling's personal plot for some reason. She's a professional organizer, but her own life is a mess thanks to her parents' gambling addiction. She's supporting them for her younger sisters' sake, but she's reached her limit. Sterling is going to bail them out one last time, but things are going to change. Sterling is going to change. She's doing things for herself for once, and that includes her affair with Jack. Of course, their inevitable fight had to be about money, because Jack's rich and has been heartbroken by gold diggers before. At least things didn't feel too over the top when he found out about her money troubles.

In the end, Recipe for Satisfaction was great. I enjoyed watching Sterling come out of her shell, try new things, and finally live life. Her and Jack also have plenty of sexy times as part of her doing things that feel good to her journey. I do just wish that there had been more food. Jack is a chef, and there is one sex scene involving a little bit of food, but there was entirely not enough food overall!

Good heartwarming story with spice

Entertaining story which captures your attention while leading on toward a heartwarming story. I especially enjoyed the foundation that works with foster kids to teach them how to cook. Jack did sweep Sterling off her feet and while predictable, it was interesting to get both characters point try of view. I plan to look for other books by this author.

Ok book, although a tad disappointing

I was a tad disappointed by this book, based on both the sample and the reviews I had expected more. It was rushed and felt somewhat incomplete, there were many important issues which in my opinion should have been opened a lot more.

Life always has twists and turns

This is a modern romance and an enjoyable read. When Krista Hartley gets a new apartment she finds a man she knew in high school is the maintenance man, Derek Weston is also a man she definitely wants to get to know better. Of course there are a few problems, like any relationship. I like the writing style by this author and although the book is short it is a complete read and it looks like it is also a part of a series that readers of romance will enjoy. warning, a bit explicit.

Would you listen to Spice again? Why?

I just loved all the characters in this book - the tenet that recovering "addicts" with different temptations can band together to support each other, and become best friends, is heart-warming. The two principals are the stuff of dreams, perhaps...I mean...Professor Sex? Who wouldn't want a date? Spicy reading!

What did you like best about this story?

Compelling story right from the start, difficult to put down. Some predictable situations used to move the story on (like gossip overheard in the ladies' loo) and frustrating interruptions just as things get down and dirty, but, like I said, a spicy read.

What does Elizabeth Hart bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you had only read the book?

Elizabeth Hart has a relaxed reading style, which keeps the story moving forward at a slow boil. Reading this for myself, I would probably have become impatient and skipped a few pages....

An exciting paranormal with good vs evil!

Cassie has been an angel in heaven for 16 years now after losing a battle to cancer. The higher ups have noticed Cassie never really fit in up in heaven and wasn't really happy. Cassie missed living, food, rain, sex, laughter and so on. One day Cassie was falling from the heavens down to Earth again.

After recovering from this fall, Cassie meets Ocean who explains to Cassie, her new job will be a guardian angel on Earth. There is a woman who is pregnant and her child is the future of the world. It is up to Cassie to protect this woman (Maria) and see that the child gets born.

The demons are also after this woman as they wish to make Earth as miserable as possible. The Demons do everything thing in their power to see the child never gets born, thus leaving a huge battle of Good vs Evil! Obviously there is more to this book then what I just stated. Read the book, you won't be sorry!

Angel High is another exciting book written by CL Quinn. Great plot, loads of energy, excitement & adventure. This book had me on the edge of my seat listening to it. Very exciting and sexy too! The narrator, Pyper Down delivers another fantastic tale with all her spectacular voices and her accents are freaking awesome! How does she do all those voices? When you get a book mixing CL Quinn & Pyper Down together, it's an explosion of all the good things readers are looking for! Just wow! I can just see all of CL Quinns books making it in the movies!

Really fun and quirky ride

This was a really interesting story. I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this read. I was really on the fence. But, I ended up pleasantly surprised. It was a bit long and tended to meander at times, YET I didn't mind.

The relationship between Rys and Frankie developed slowly. But, it wasn't too slow. The whole story kind of flowed organically. I thought Doug was a bit gruff and at times a jerk. There were definitely a lot of jerky moments for several characters. Ms. Hooton did a good job of making everyone human, and show their good and bad sides. Frankie at times was naive and made questionable decisions, but that wasn't a detraction. It was something that anyone can see in the people around them that make them human. There are a lot of things I could say about which characters irritated me, made me mad, etc. HOWEVER, these are not things that would be negatives about the book. It speaks to Ms. Hooton's ability to draw you in and make you care enough to go through a few emotions about the characters as you follow them through the journey to the end of the story. And, there were a lot of funny and sweet moments of the book that I loved.

This was a racing story and I thought that the romance and other human dynamics that developed around the racing element of the story is what made it work so well. It didn't just feel like a typical romance, but like following the story of the lives of the characters for this specific period of time.

Overall a wonderful listen. I thought the narrator, Elan O'Connor was really great. She has this wonderful quirkiness.

Smart, witty, clever romance with a great legal plot.

4.5 Stars. Really surprised me how much I liked this bk, the cover more or less looked like a fluff romance, but so not the case. Starts right off with 2 lawyers Joe/Sarah surprised by meeting up again on opposing sides of a case after not having seen each other for 6 years. Having abruptly broken up in law school, the h is left without a reason why. Does this intelligent, witty, clever little attorney have some anger/hate going on for the H/Joe her former lover...you betcha. But she's incredibly strong willed, determined, calm, cool and collected not to let on his being on the case affects her in the least. She had some tough breaks professionally along the way which made her mentally, physically and emotionally stronger. Both Joe/Sarah are on an assignment neither wants but needs to prove themselves in their careers. Need to mention here that this is not just a romance there's a very clever legal plot going on too. You just know the intense feelings each still has for the other is just below the surface but rather than explode they slowly evolve then explode. At one point in the story, I was starting to worry that my high praise for Sarah was gonna wane just a bit and she was going to pull a dummy-dum-dum move, but ah ha, the author is much more clever with a bigger plan in mind. Very satisfying. This is a smart, sharp story with sadly a more abrupt HEA than I would have liked. Yes, this is a series and although I have no idea what the author has planned for bk 2 I'm guessing bk 2 will be about new characters, although I wouldn't mind more of Sarah/Joe as they move along in their life together. What I thought might be fluff ended up being a page turner that was smart, witty, clever and very worth my time and $5.99. Would definitely recommend this one.

Riveting Romantic Read

This book is Elizabeth Ruston's best romance yet! Sarah Henley is the heroine who is strong and brilliant and fascinating to follow as she tries to re-build her law life and her love life. This is a story that will appeal to all people who have had to deal with love complications in the work place and for those who love quick-witted banter between smart characters. Ruston gives us a behind-the-scenes peek at the legal profession and gives a multi-faceted plot that involves romance and business hanky panky. The reader is taken on a non-stop ride of wild twists and turns that unfold in many unexpected ways. I would highly recommend this book to those readers who like a complex plot with spirited dialogue. Ruston is a master of words and rich characterizations, and her work is a true pleasure to read!

a smart romance

This book was a true find. It is what I like to call a smart romance (and I'm a huge romance fan, so that's not a slam on the genre). The characters are real and you will feel deeply for them. The way the plot and backstory unfold is terrific.

Flynn and Jack meet when he pulls her out of a burning car on her wedding day. Amnesia makes Flynn forget who she is and the tragic accident that put her in the hospital. For one week Jack stays by Flynn's side while she recovers. A bond forms between them. After Flynn's uncle comes and takes her away to recover, they lose contact with each other and Jack isn't the same.

Years later a chance meeting brings them back together. Will their bond still be there and will it work out for them?

All We Know of Heaven is book 4 in the PAX series. Ms. Bretton has created a world of intrigue and suspense. I liked the premise of the story and how Flynn and Jack met, were separated and then met again.

Ms. Kane's narration of this story is spot on. She gives each character the emotion that propels the story forward. She makes you want to keep listening to the story and find out what happens next.

I would recommend this book to my friends who like romance and suspense. I would listen to this book again.

Helicopter Family-ing at its finest

I love this series - love Rebecca, Candace and Maria. Even love their families. But the mother, brothers and ex fiancée in this book irritate the heck out of me.

WHO DOES THINGS LIKE THAT?

They duct taped an innocent guy (well not so innocent, maybe). They drove a HEARSE to a business, tried to measure her for a cow costume while at work. Basically - her family have tried to guilt trip her entire life. AND THE LIST GOES ON.

Irritating.

There is a difference between caring for and loving someone and stifling that person.

UGH.

The three stars are for Meredith, Travis and the 3 ladies. Even Kenny.

didn't sign up for seafood

meh seafood is not my thing and the story fizzled out for me, I liked the girl but two many parasitic relationships around both of them.

I enjoyed this book so much that I completed it in one day! Meredith and Travis are so sweet, and they are surrounded by an array of quirky characters who made me smile. How could I not enjoy a where the heroine wears a cow costume in the middle of Government Square in Boston?

Great clean love story

Shirley jump is a wonderful writer. She makes people come alive in her books. Like how she puts recipe at end of each chapter. This one was wonderful! Clean love stories easy read too. I can't wait to get next one.

Enjoyable. Funny characters that keep you laughing.

Enjoyed reading this series. A little different for me. Quirky characters that get into funny situations that eventually land them in love and walking down the aisle to happily ever after.
