I have been the breadwinner for my family for over a decade now, which has at times felt so empowering and at times also felt like a whole lot of responsibility on my shoulders too.
After five years of mostly being a stay at home dad and retraining to be a software developer, my husband started a full time job last October so heading into 2026 I now have the option to earn a little less this year in my business if I want to.
Iām still the higher earner and probably will be for quite a few more years to come but I am no longer responsible for almost all of our financial needs and long term goals and my nervous system was honestly so ready for this.
So in todayās episode Iām sharing some very in-the-moment thoughts, feelings, and reflections on how it feels to be able to earn less money this year if I want to and all of the big messy feelings thatās brought up for me too.
And most of all I hope this episode can encourage you to know that how much you earn in your business isnāt the most interesting thing about you in your work and that your financial goals donāt have to exist in response to anyone elseās.
