In this part 1 of a special 2 episode series of Digital & Dirt, host Ian Dallimore speaks with Tommy Teepell, former CMO of Lamar. They begin by discussing Ian’s brief reality TV career on Temptation Island and how Tommy helped begin Ian’s career at Lamar. Tommy and Ian then dive into Tommy’s path at Lamar, starting as working as an accountant, to working in sales for Xerox, to eventually leading sales schools for IBM where he was recruited to work for Lamar. Tommy discusses his time spent leading the IOA (Institute of Outdoor Advertising) and reflects on the importance of building relationships. Lastly, Tommy looks back on a few major events that happened throughout his career, such as – the ban of cigarette advertising and Lamar going public.
