Okay. So this episode did not go as planned. Not that there even was a plan to begin with… I start talking about the content below, and end up getting emotional by sharing my truth and confrontation about my own experience and feeling like a hypocrite.
Here are some of the details of the conversation:
The self development industry was valued at just over $35 million in 2020. It is projected to reach over 51.6 million by 2028. While there can be some benefits of accessing resources that can improve our quality of life, I also see a significant rise in anxiety and harm to the self image. With the rise of the online Success Guru’s comes the fall of differentiated expressions of what success, satisfaction, peace and surprise actually look like in the lives of everyday people.
In today’s episode, I use my External Vision and Personal View to share my perspective on an industry that I believe is doing more harm than good. This episode would not be complete without a dash of Judgement Sense dancing with my own grappling of the hypocrisy that is inherent in my 6th line personality. In a nutshell, I was one of these so-called Success Guru’s and I’m ready to tell the story of my experience.
I hope you enjoy my musings :)
