Hoary Marmot is all about mental health with an inspirational story detailed in the upcoming nonfiction book “Without Restraint” from father/son writing team Robert and Ryan DeLena.

As a child, Ryan had difficulty controlling his emotional outbursts. This led to placement in therapeutic schools that relied on detrimental methods of behavior modification such as physical restraints and heavy medication. In 2010, Ryan was voluntarily committed to a mental hospital for further evaluation. His parents were out of options... until Ryan discovered skiing.

With the help of Big Sky ski instructor Ben Brosseau, Ryan finally found a sense of focus and purpose that proved more effective than any medicine.
