Today, I am joined by Natalie (NatNat) Bedard, who is the founder and host of Lift Oneself. Together, we start with a very quick meditation practice that is truly relaxing. I then share my personal experience with it to start the topic of overthinking and relaxing, as well as set the scene for the fast-paced and busy world we live in.
NatNat explains the importance and the often overlooked symbolism of the butterfly- the fact that the butterfly may be more beautiful than the cocoon or caterpillar, but there are changes to its lifestyle and abilities that most people don't take into consideration.
Additionally, NatNat shares her personal story of unanswered/untreated medical conditions, and how it led her onto a journey of healing through her own seeking. During this time, she unplugged from social media, and we discuss in detail the way that social media has changed the world, our thoughts, our nervous systems, and our perceptions. This discussion includes unplugging from social media benefits, as well as the reality of how difficult it can be.
NatNat also gives some great advice on how negativity-dumping through writing can be much more doable and efficient for people than positive-gratitude writing.
