In todays episode Carissa and Emma speak once again with psychologist Kobie Allison about body image and self-esteem. They discuss the relationships we have with ourselves relative to not only what we eat, but also how we treat ourselves emotionally and mentally on a daily basis. They also cover the strong role that social media now plays in impacting these deep seeded issues alongside tools that we can implement and use to start to break down these ingrained thought patterns. Kobie additionally discusses the importance of our own individual belief systems surrounding ‘you should’ and ‘you must’ and how these lines of thought can be destructive to our relationship with food and feeding our ‘inner critic’.

Kobie openly shares her own experience with her past eating disorder and how learning to overcome this involved a positive relationship with herself, highlighting how working on self care and self respect are so vital in achieving a positive relationship with ourselves.
