Work to make money, spend more than you earn, and worry about how to make more. Does this sound familiar? Interestingly, people who are stressed out don't know WHY they repeat this pattern. First, stress will turn on the sympathetic nervous system, also known as fight or flight. The sympathetic nervous system turns on the part of the brain responsible for safety, security, and procreation. This part of the brain is known as the reptilian brain.
The reptilian brain is said to be 400 million years old. When the Reptilian brain is triggered, a person can start thinking about work, money, safety, food, and sex. The more stress, the more the reptilian brain is turned on.
Remember, Stress is one of the biggest triggers for the reptilian brain. Stress will increase the body's temperature, Heartrate, Adrenaline, cortisol, blood sugar, and insulin, turns off digestion, causes issues with sex performance, and turns on survival which makes a person looks for threats!
After Stress turns on, the fight or flight system is triggered, then the reptilian brain is turned on. This will influence a person to look for threats, overwork to make money, skip meals, overeat, and issues with the muscles, organs, and glands.
