In the first episode of the Good Samaritan podcast, I talk about my personal experiences with tarot from the very beginning of when I discovered it. I speak about how I was drawn into tarot at a time in my life where I was already down, and the devil came to find me at an opportune time. God sent multiple warnings after I had gotten invested into it, but I shrugged it off and assumed that Christians were exaggerating. I thought it was so harmless at first because I associated the first tarot reading that I received with saving my life. The tarot reader told me my past and present accurately, so I assumed that the advice for the future was something that I should really take heed to. I now know that the reason that the past and present aspects of the reading were so accurate was because of familiar spirits. Familiar spirits are demonic spirits that know your past and present, and use that information to get you to take the path of destruction instead of what God had planned for your life originally. In my two and a half year journey of experiencing tarot, there was a cycle of things that never happened; the readings had me living in a false reality, while expecting certain outcomes. More often than not, tarot readings told me what I wanted to hear rather than the truth. After a while, I became dependent on the cards for mostly every decision in my life, even when discernment and common sense would tell me to do the opposite of what the cards suggested. Tarot was just the introduction to me getting involved with the occult and new age spirituality; following it, I gradually started practicing candle magic, ancestral veneration, hoodoo, and Orisha and other false god worship. Since Jesus came to save me, I’ve been seeking God with all of my heart, and in return, have been filled with love, joy, peace, a sound mind, and everything else that I searched for for years in the outside world but never found.
