The latest survey from Australian Seniors found the biggest cause for adult children moving back in with their parents are: Financial struggles (39%); relationship and personal issues (30%); and lack of affordable living options (28%).

But as Dom points out, it's not all bad news. Multigenerational living is common overseas, can help alleviate the rental crisis, and is a natural reaction and rebuke to the extremely low household sizes we saw during Covid.
