When the first true Jet Liners took to the sky in 1958, the cruise industry had every reason to be worried.

Flying was finally at a price point comparative to long sea journeys, with commenting on how it would herald the end of ocean bound travel.

But here we are over a century later and the cruise industry has kept going strong despite air travel becoming much cheaper than a cruise ticket.
