  • Episode 17: Shamanic Wisdom Beyond Plant Medicine with Kerry Henwood

Internationally recognized intuitive healer, teacher and master shaman Kerry Henwood shares her wisdom on the true meaning of shamanism, looking beyond mainstreamed plant ceremonies into the deeper foundational underpinnings of healing, ritual, and integration, and why this is so important for humanity at this time.

Kerry tells her personal story of being called onto the shamanic path, one that trains the initiated to listen and bridge the human and natural worlds through the understanding of their own mind and heart.  We are energetic beings and acts of kindness and love activate the greater unified field, bringing us into alignment and flow with life.

As the western world becomes more fragmented an increasing number of people are reaching for this modality, not only because it helps many to heal from addiction and trauma, but also because it teaches us how to master our mind, and to stand in presence as who we truly are - beyond ceremony,  moving from reaction into integration and wholeness.

    About Kerry:

For more than 40 years, Australian native Kerry Henwood has utilized age-old traditions and leading-edge approaches to support the healing and awakening of people around the world. An internationally respected master shaman, intuitive, teacher, and inspirational speaker, Kerry's unique integrative healing practice is grounded in her extensive knowledge of ancient healing and spiritual traditions, developed over decades studying and working with shamans, yogis, monks, and healing practitioners across the globe. In addition, she integrates intuitive insight, innovative mind-body practices and breakthrough technologies to further enhance her clients' ability to become healthy, whole, and authentically who they are. And, by joyfully living the truth and radiance of her own Self, Kerry's sparkling presence inspires others to open to healing and reclaiming their own innocence, magnificence, and light.

In her shamanic healings, Kerry uses ancient indigenous techniques to foster healing of modern minds and spirits. Her shamanic work draws particularly on the spiritual healing traditions of Peru, which resonate powerfully with her soul and her clients. Sound also is an integral aspect of her healing work and, being a gifted musician, she uses a diverse array of songs, icaros, rhythms, instruments, and techniques from a variety of spiritual traditions.

As a master teacher, Kerry focuses not only on teaching her students to practice shamanism to support healing and transformation in others, but to own their responsibility to use this and other practices to support their own continuous healing, transformation, and awakening. Kerry's teachings always promote self-motivation, self-empowerment, and self-realization, and her openness about her own experiences with healing her body inspire many to break through their own fear, pain, or grief to do the same for themselves.

  • Ep. 16 Interconnective Awareness Towards Building A Regenerative Future with Ganga Devi Braun

Ganga Devi Braun is is an extraordinary facilitator, regenerative counselor, ritualist, writer, ecologist, and community cultivator who weaves ontological design and living systems theory into all that she does.

She shares her unique experience of having been raised in an intentional community that values pluralistic collaboration, enriched by diverse religious, spiritual and philosophical traditions. This led her to become an interspiritual minister and guide for bridge-building and consciousness-raising that is much needed during this time of widening societal polarities and climate emergency.

Designing for a regenerative culture requires unlearning of reductive models in order to create anticipatory ones that work for 100% of life.  Ganga is a catalyst for the regenerative movement, connecting social justice, environmentalism and design science. She was selected for the first cohort in Buckminster Fuller Institute’s Design Science Studio, and is a founding facilitator of Presence Foundations - a transformational leadership incubator for embodying whole systems awareness within us, and integrating these principles to create impact in the world.

    About Ganga:

Ganga Devi Braun is committed to the healing of our shared world, a process that requires a recognition of the interconnected nature of all life. She believes that this healing requires a continuous reflexive process of recognizing difference, privilege, and shadows of the incarnations we are currently experiencing.

As a facilitator, counselor, ritualist, writer, ecologist, and community cultivator, she draws heavily from the wisdom of Buckminster Fuller, Joanna Macy, Adrienne Maree Brown, and the complex interactions she observes every day in the subtropical bioregion she calls home.  Ganga has dedicated her academic studies, career, and personal life to understanding living systems, evolutionary principles, biomimicry, and regenerative design.

Ganga’s upbringing within one of the few experimental land-based communities founded in the 70’s that has withstood the test of time gave her a unique perspective through the lens of diverse and pluralistic collaboration. She is an ordained interspiritual minister (One Spirit Learning Alliance Interspiritual Seminary), and applies religious and spiritual technology to create dynamic spaces based on collective wisdom that supports meaning-making, while harmonizing with the living systems that we are.

  • Ep.14 The Power Of Art For Positive Social Change with Maxi Cohen

Award-winning filmmaker, multimedia artist and media activist Maxi Cohen tells her story of how questioning authority and pursuing the unknown led her to communicate in new ways, pushing form and creating positive social change in the process.

Her groundbreaking work is at once fearless, intimate and always relevant: from the vulnerable and authentic storytelling in Joe and Maxi  about her relationship with her father after her mother died of cancer, to South Central Los Angeles - a documentary about the deadly and divisive riots in Los Angeles in 1992 . This was the first film made about racism that included diverse factions and was the first made by real people.

Maxi shares her recent projects such as Art2Heart in Soho, New York - bringing together artists during the boarded up summer of 2020 to paint messages of prayer and protest, and A Movement In Water currently in development. This regenerative project bridges art, science and spirituality through an immersive, multimedia, mobile museum of water that instills a greater reverence for what we are made of. “Optimal hydration is an altered state.” says Maxi’s co-producer Gina Bria.

Her latest work exploring Ayahuasca extends the theme of positive social change to global cultural transformation, by delving into how this ancient sacred plant medicine not only heals trauma and addiction, but also raises consciousness in humanity.

    About Maxi:

Maxi Cohen is an award-winning artist and filmmaker based in New York City. Her films, photographs and multimedia installations have been exhibited internationally and are in the permanent collections of numerous museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Whitney Museum for American Art, New York, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, and the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa. Her films have played in movie theaters, film festivals and television around the world.

In New York City, she became the director of the first public access facility in the country, as part of the Alternate Media Center. At the same time, she set up the distribution system of Electronic Arts Intermix, now the largest distributor of video art in the world. She co-founded the Independent Feature Project, representing feature filmmakers nationally, and First Run Features, the first company devoted to distributing American independent films.

Cohen most recently executive produced From Shock to Awe, the story of suicidal veterans who recover from PTSD with ayahuasca and MDMA to be theatrically released in 2018.

Cohen’s television work includes short films produced for Saturday Night Live, the Comedy Channel, MTV Networks, PBS, Children’s Television Workshop, and Fox Broadcasting, ARTE, in addition to developing series for the BBC, CPB, HBO and Turner.

  • Ep. 12 Living Through The Lens Of Human Design with Zsuzsi Evans
    • Join me for a fun conversation with Zsuzsi Evans of Genetic Yoga about Human Design, as we share lived examples of how observing life through the Human Design lens can help us move beyond our mind as a decision-making tool into greater alignment with our authentic being.
    • When we live according to who we truly are we vibrate at a frequency that spreads this resonance to others, lifting consciousness to a higher level that is no longer confined to a framework of right and wrong, but instead one that is less reactive and more able to love life in its wholeness. As Human Design Analyst Stephen Rebolledo of Genetic Yoga puts it, Human Design is “a guide to no-fault living”.
    • We discuss the deconditioning aspects of Human Design and how it’s a great tool for parents to understand their energetic effect on their children, so as not to project their own conditioning onto their offspring, but instead have the awareness and knowledge to treat them as uniquely themselves from the beginning.
    • We also go into the guidance that Human Design gives on eating and living, how best to fuel our bodies and find the most aligned environment that produces mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.

        • Ep. 10 Transcending The Fear of Destiny: Astrology, Astrocartography & Qigong with Elizabeth Smith

What do astrology and qigong have in common? Plenty, according to master astrologer and astrocartography expert Elizabeth Smith. Don’t miss this rare and illuminating discussion on astrology, astrocartography and qigong. Elizabeth goes beyond the mundane and shares her deep insight on how astrology can be used as a tool for spiritual awakening, beyond the perceived limitations of birth charts and notions of malefic and benefic planets.

She brings her wisdom from decades of qigong practice to show us how it is connected with astrology.  Beyond a health practice, qigong is a cleansing process to awaken our inner voice by clearing away lower frequencies. By illustrating their similarities she deepens our understanding of how each can serve us by teaching us how to harmonize with life.

We are the stars, and the planets are here to assist in our growth. The evolution of astrology moves us from a “to me” mentality where we are victims, to a “by me” state, where we begin to accept responsibility for what happens in our lives, and finally to a “through me” way of being, where we become a vessel for the intelligence of nature and  have greater access to freedom and joy.

          About Elizabeth:

With more than 40 years of experience, master astrologer and astrocartography expert Elizabeth Smith is a gifted counselor and seasoned speaker with a passion for facilitating liberation with this life-changing knowledge.

She learned her stellar craft from the greats of the astrological world: Isabel Hickey, Jim Lewis and Liz Greene as well as through direct transmissions from the natural world while dwelling in deep communion with the elements for nineteen years.

Elizabeth brings a fun-loving spirit, calm vitality and proven intuition to her wisdom-centered work which she attributes to four decades of harmonizing Universal and Earth energies in the practices of Cheng T'ai Chi, Dao-In Chinese Yoga, and Master Key standing forms under the guidance of Chinese grandmasters Cheng Man-Ching, Ni Hua-Ching and Robert Peng.

She has taught in the most reputable healing and spiritual education centers in New York City including Maha Rose, Heal Haus  and The Alchemist’s Kitchen and has spoken in venues around the US that promote self awareness and balanced, healthy lifestyles.

Through an integrated understanding of people and planets, her private consultations  invoke inspiration, clarity and healing of mind, body and spirit for clients and students from around the globe.

Elizabeth currently makes her home in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina where she was guided by great Jupiter in a lucid dream just before the pandemic.
