In this episode, we welcome Hubspot’s Victor Pan who rants all about how SEOs don't approach Google patents correctly.
We get into:
*The various reason why an SEO-related patent might exist
*The fallacy in assuming all Google SEO patents are active
*Why thinking Google’s patents are there to throw us off is incredibly stupid
There a slew of reasons why Google might write a patent. Assuming that any given patent must be a part of the algorithm is a bit silly and doesn't consider the wide array of reasons a company creates a patent.
At the same time, thinking Google is trying to throw us off their scent by releasing patents is equally absurd.
