The Jordan School District’s Teaching & Learning department is proud to introduce the Jordan Journey podcast. The Jordan Journey is a monthly education podcast featuring teacher stories from across the Jordan School District in Utah.
In this episode, our hosts Jared Covili and Kiera Beddes sit down with Kasey Chambers and Ami Anderson, two instructional coaches from Rocky Peak Elementary. Ami has been teaching for 27 years in Jordan School District and Kasey wants to be Ami when she grows up. She has been teaching in Jordan School District for 10 years.
Both Kasey and Ami were unexpectedly voluntold to create virtual curriculum the summer before the pandemic. That set things in motion for both of them to be asked to teach virtually during the pandemic. Truth be told, neither were thrilled for this change. But through sheer stubbornness, along with dozens of other JSD teachers, they learned! And loved it! And now they both coach teachers at Rocky Peak Virtual, and they spend their days coaching, problem solving, and inventing ways to do things virtually. Every day is a challenge and an adventure, and we are both so proud to be a part of it.
Over of the course of this episode, we discuss the following questions:
Don’t forget to listen to our “Pitstop” segment where we shout-out something awesome happening in Jordan School District.
