How do you bounce back when your world gets rocked? When everything seems to be going wrong in your life? When your dreams are shattered?
Disappointment is interesting. It can be focused internally on ourselves, or externally on others. But no matter where the focus is, the root of it is some sort of attachment and typically judgement. When you get swept up in the emotions around disappointment, it's easy to be carried off in the direction of disempowering emotions and thoughts. The sequence can go like this: you feel the disappointment, you start to judge or take something personally or get angry or react, which leads you to more fear based feelings and thoughts, which pulls you down further. But spotting this behavior and recognizing it at the moment of the triggering event is key to being able to rise above those feelings and stay in your power, in the face of the disappointment.
