How to Build a Chase for the Ring Competitor - Episode #84
As we enter Week 5 of Dynasty Owner, we wanted to take a moment to discuss how to build a Chase for the Ring Competitor in Dynasty Owner.
When it comes to balancing your roster with these NFL players it takes a little bit of an eye for talent. We have said this before, its not just about acquiring the big names as typically those names come with big contracts...especially the QBs. Rather you'll need to consider looking at players that aren't the household names that we have grown to love over the years.
Once you get that balance down just right, especially if you are doing your initial draft, then you can find the rhythm that makes the team. But drafting isn't everything as you'll see.
Sometimes even in the draft, players that would carry big for you get left behind, such as Alvin Kamara whom would be picked up late. When there is uncertainty about a player that is coming up on their contract or getting an extension, it might work out this year but will it carry for the years to come.
We aren't your typical redraft league that a lot of platforms use, in Dynasty Owner, you keep these players as if you ran your own NFL team, which in turn makes some hard decisions on whether or not you keep the player that is aces, or start running with Rookies to see who blossoms to be the next Pat Mahomes or Saquon Barkley.
Every decision matters in Dynasty Owner. From Free Agent Auction bids to trades that you do with your leaguemates, it all comes into one. Not to mention finding that balance for your salary cap and not breaking the bank.
2020 is an interesting season. There was no preseason this year, there was no hall of fame game this year, and we can just consider the first four weeks of this season essentially preseason but there are injuries a plenty and the loom of the pandemic.
In spite of all that the season is still going forward and the points, they are adding up. So the Chase for the Ring is still anyone's game. It just matters what happens week to week and who stands out amongst the rest.
