Like many immigrants, Anh Vu's family came to the USA in pursuit of the American Dream in 1995. They were told that to become rich, they needed to go to school, get good grades, and get a good job. Anh followed his parents' advice, graduated from college as a Mechanical Engineer, and started working for a big transportation company in 2006 in Philadelphia, PA. However, despite his well-paying job, he found himself drowning in debt with over $100,000 in student loans.
While working as an engineer, Anh realized that if he continued to trade time for money, he would never be able to retire early. He decided to find a way out and was introduced to the Financial Industry by a friend. He was amazed by the simple yet powerful financial concepts that he had never been taught in school. He began his journey as a financial professional in early 2007, helping many Vietnamese families understand the importance of saving, investing, and planning for the future.
Anh worked full time as an engineer and part-time in the financial industry for the first four years. He fell in love with what he was doing and made the bold decision to leave engineering and work full time in the financial industry in January 2011, after his dad passed away. He was 31 years old at the time. Anh worked hard for the next four years and was fortunate enough to have his own agency of 100+ license professionals across the USA with multiple 7-figure revenue annually by the age of 35.
What shocked Anh the most was that many people who own a business and even those who have a good job, such as pharmacists, nurses, doctors, and engineers in their 50s and 60s, do not fully understand how money works. Anh met many people who had hundreds of thousands of dollars sitting in the bank earning less than 1%.
Anh believes that we all work hard for money, and it makes sense to learn how to make money work hard for us.
