Dr. Edward Burns' journey has been one of incredible perseverance and determination in the face of adversity. After honorably serving his country in the military, Dr. Burns found himself homeless on the streets of Chicago with his young daughter. During this difficult time, they sought shelter behind a bank in the dead of winter and were forced to eat discarded food from trash cans just to survive.
