How to Choose a Podcast Format

Listen Later

When I work with new launch clients I often get asked what format their show should be in, and usually my answer is “it depends,”. However, today I want to help you figure out the format of your show through sharing personal experiences that either I have had or my clients have had to help you decide which format makes the most sense for you. This week, episode 36 of Listeners to Leads is about how to pick a podcast format!

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, I’m sharing the importance of understanding your own boundaries as well as your show’s unique personality and actionable steps you can take right now to be confident in your format choices for your podcast.

I also chat about the following:

  • Picking a format; from solo to guest, and even co-hosted, the format of the episode style should be the first thing you decide on when it comes to the format of your overall show.
  • Why the length of your show matters; how understanding who your audience is and your own ability to get your point across in a concise manner helps you figure out the length of your show.
  • The importance of understanding your own capacity for creating new content to help facilitate the production timing of your show.
  • What podcast seasons are, and how you can categorize your seasons based on theme or timeframe, depending on your show’s personality and needs.

There is no right or wrong way to produce your show when it comes to formatting your podcast episodes and style; it really does depend on you, your audience, and your production needs. This episode will allow you the opportunity to explore options and imagine how each type and style may work for you and your own show.

Be sure to tune in to all the episodes to receive tons of practical tips on turning your podcast listeners into leads and to hear even more about the points outlined above.

Thank you for listening!
