Helping someone choose an electric bike that has not ridden one before is no easy task.  There are many e-bikes on the market and there are some key requirements to look for, especially if it has been years or decades since they have been on a bike in general. We dive into the factors to consider and some really good options.

In this week’s episode, we dive into a diverse range of news stories and questions from our audience. 

On the political front, a new bill introduced to Congress would encourage domestic assembly of bicycles and e-bikes by eliminating tariffs on their components. 

On the business front, GoCycle has been purchased by the owner of a prominent e-bike manufacturer. Additionally, the Spanish motor producer MAHLE has entered the eMTB market with a heavy-hitting mid-drive. 

When responding to questions and comments from our audience this week, we explain many of the factors that affect an e-bike’s climbing performance, we dive into a comparison between two excellent SUV-style e-bikes, and we discuss the spirit of our comparisons in the context of two hybrid e-bikes.
