  • Basic Lesson Prep and Frameworks

In this episode we cover the basics of preparing for and creating an engaging lesson.

First your purpose is to invite others to come unto Jesus Christ. by feeling the love of the Savior, drawing closer to Him, and Christ centered teaching.

Then we discuss non-negotiobles in a lesson including:

    • Always inviting the Spirit

    • Focusing on only one major takeaway

    • Ensuring everyone participates at lease once

    • Always having an icebreaker to start the lesson

Finally I provide the outline for creating the lesson:

    1. Get a broad overview of the main principles in the lesson in Come Follow Me

    2. Think about the class members and which principle would be most helpful to them that week (think about the people struggling the most and orient your lesson to them)

    3. Think about a commitment that you could extend to the class that would help them improve their relationship with the Savior

    4. List key scriptures or talks to highlight Create questions and list stories that help bring unique perspectives to the main principle
