Wonderful Work of Art
How can you give anything but a 5 to a Shakespeare play. I am listening to lectures on Shakespeare from The Great Courses, and wanted to read the play they were discussing along with the lectures. Shakespeare has great insight into the human condition and he can express it in the best of ways. Sometimes I just shake my head, marveling. Of course, I have read Romeo and Juliet before - in fact a few times. But it is always a treat to revisit a great work or art. On this read, I came to the conclusion that the biggest culprit in the play is the Friar. How could he leave Juliet in her hour of obvious desperate need, just to save his own skin? Anyway, clearly 5 stars.

Thank the heavens for 'No Fear Shakespeare'.
Exceptionally helpful. Recommended by my English teacher (she also used it for class), and it couldn't have gone any better. Personally, Romeo and Juliet wasn't too difficult to understand, but there were some very archaic words with weird definitions and 'No Fear Shakespeare' really helped me understand them. I recommended this book wholeheartedly and will definitely be trying out some other Old English literature using this brand.

Larger than I expected, but no nonsense print. It gives you the list of characters and then the play in it's entirety. What more could you ask for?
worked great!
Great copy suitable for students!!! With a study guide. It was the version suggested by our homeschool course!
