Developing open communication about your mental health is going to be the key ingredient in your mental health recovery. Being able to communicate how you feel can help others to understand you better and we all want to be understood. However, mental distress can affect communication, so there are times when it can be much harder to find the words even for articulate people. Forming those health relationships with friends and family are going to be part of your recovery process because when you feel like your understood then you don’t ever have to feel like you’re fighting this battle alone. No one want’s to ever feel misunderstood, therefore we need to start having more open conversations about our mental health journeys, struggles, and fears. The more we share, the more comfortable others will feel, and the easier it will be to understand. If they don’t know what’s going on with you then how do, we expect them to ever understand the struggles we feel every day.
