6 Tips For Helping Children With Homework

    https://kiidu.com/blog/homework-tutoring-bangkok/

Children love to play and when not properly guided, they can have the tendency to forget about their homework. But there are best practices that can help develop that sense of responsibility for kids to do their homework:

    1. Set up a distraction-free study corner. First on our list of best practices is having a distraction-free environment. Gadgets, television, loud music and toys could potentially divert the attention of kids from their books and homework. Remove all these distractions if you want your kids to focus on their lessons.

    2. Create a study schedule. Having a regular study schedule can help develop the habit of studying. Some kids are more productive in the afternoon, early in the morning, or right after dinner. Get your kid's opinion on what time she/he prefers to study.

    3. Set break time. Having short breaks that take between 10 and 15 minutes can help kids absorb and learn more. It also helps their brain get some rest, especially amidst a hectic deadline. Most importantly, breaks prevent burnout.

    4. Provide the necessary tools and materials. Make sure that your child has easy access to school supplies and the necessary tools for completing their homework. After every school day, ask your child if they have projects or homework, and check the needed materials so that you can prepare them beforehand

    5. Motivate your child and give constant feedback. One of the primary roles of parents is to be a motivator to their kids. And your kids need a lot of motivation to become more independent and responsible in doing their homework on their own. But even if they have already completed their homework, take some time to check them and give feedback.

    6. Consider getting a nanny who can help with homework. Helping children with homework can demand a lot of time and effort. And if you are busy parents with day jobs, this could be too much to squeeze into your schedule. This is where a nanny who can do homework tutoring can help. The best practices we listed do not cover all but they should help you and your child get started. If you think that you don't have the time to do homework tutoring, consider hiring a tutor or nanny who can help you. Get in touch with us today!

  • Find a Babysitter Over Christmas

    Find a Babysitter Over Christmas

    https://kiidu.com/blog/find-babysitter-over-christmas/

Book an Xmas Babysitter on time!

We all know how Christmas time can get so busy. With all the parties, travels, visitors, shopping and so much more, managing these things can easily become overwhelming and stressful. So much more if you have a baby to take care of because your nanny is taking a time-off or for whatever reason she can’t be with you.

If you need a babysitter for Christmas, you may consider booking one earlier so that it is one less thing to worry about. At Kiidu, we make it easier for you to book a babysitter for Christmas. Depending on your needs, you can book a babysitter for a day, or a full-time babysitter. We are proud that our babysitters are highly trained in taking care of kids from newborn to grown-ups.

And should you book an Xmas babysitter now, here are some tips that will help make your babysitting arrangements a success.

    1. Communicate your expectations

Whether you are booking a babysitter for a day or a week around Christmas time, don’t forget to communicate your expectations beforehand. Being on the same page with your babysitter helps avoid frustrations over something that’s not properly communicated.

    2. Discuss what your babysitter can do in case of an emergency

Emergency situations can happen when you least expect them. And when they do happen, you would want your babysitter to know exactly what to do.

    3. Be clear on what activities are acceptable

Christmas time is one of the busiest times of the year when all the malls, playgrounds and other public places are packed with people. If you don’t want your babysitter to bring your kids to any of these places, be clear about it.

    4. Specify your food expectations

The holiday season is the time of the year when you can easily get overloaded on sweets and high fat foods. While it’s probably okay with you for your kids to eat a small slice of cake, you don’t want them to indulge in too much sweets. That is when specifying your food expectations for your kids is important.

    5. Provide a list of your kids’ routine

Providing a list with details on the typical meal time, play time and bedtime routine of your kids can give the babysitter an idea of what your kids are used to. This is especially important if you are hiring someone who is not your regular babysitter.

    6. Let your babysitter know when you’ll be home

If you’ll be out for an entire day to attend a party or gathering, let your babysitter know what time you’ll be home. She’ll appreciate it if you don’t leave her hanging when it comes to the time you will be arriving. If you know you’ll be late, call her and let her know.

With all the activities going on during Christmas, having a reliable babysitter who will take care of your kids can give you peace of mind and can make your day less stressful.

Should you wish to book a babysitter now, just contact us and we will help you find the right babysitter for your kids.

  • Planning Holiday Schedules With Your Nanny

Planning Holiday Schedules With Your Nanny

The holiday season is fast approaching. Everyone will be very busy again with holiday parties and travels. If you are a family with kids and a nanny, managing your schedule around all the hustle and bustle during this season can be a bit tricky. But with advanced planning, you can make it work. There are things that you need to consider when planning holiday schedules with your nanny. We've outlined here the most important ones.

    1. Find out what your nanny feels about holiday celebrations First off, it's important to consider the customs or religious beliefs of your nanny about the holidays. If she has a different belief, ask her how comfortable she is to help with your holiday plans. This is very important so that you can both set the right expectations and avoid awkward situations in the future. Remember to stay professional and understand that your nanny's traditions and practices may be different from yours. If your nanny is not comfortable with participating in your activities, you can also plan ahead of time what to do next.

    2. Make a list of the kind of help you need from your nanny during the holiday season. If your nanny is happy to help with your holiday activities, your next step is to list down the activities or tasks that require your nanny's help. Yes, we suggest creating a list to ensure that you got everything covered.

  • How to Prevent Discrimination and sexual harassment as a family when hiring a nanny?

Welcome to Kiidu Podcast, In this session I would like to share some tips.

“How to Prevent Discrimination and sexual harassment as a family when hiring a nanny?

As Covid-19 has changed the way we work, many families rely on their nannies, tutors, maids or drivers to help them. Parents struggle to fulfill both the demands of their jobs and caring for their children and families. While this struggle is exaggerated by the pandemic, it is not new anymore. The clash between work and care, especially for mothers, existed long before Covid-19 closed daycares and schools. Indeed, The condition of employment discrimination against caregivers were climbing in the decade before the pandemic and now show sign of an even higher. how gender affects who is seen as an “ideal” worker, who is assumed to be responsible for caregiving, and who is deemed deserving of workplace accommodations.

We identified two forms of caregiver bias. The first is when employers make decisions about hiring, firing, increasing salary, pay bonus, giving the day off, or other issues about how caregivers with caregiving duties will perform on the job. The second type of discrimination is where employers discriminate against caregivers based on their actual caregiving responsibilities and the need to accommodate them. The challenge of balancing work and caregiving can also vary based on other characteristics such as marital status, sexual orientation, race, age, appearance or look.

Unfortunately in some countries Caregivers are often excluded from the labor rights. They may be vulnerable to abuse and mistreatment and are isolated from the traditional workforce. Lacking typical workforce protections against unsafe conditions, caregivers are open to discrimination and harassment and susceptible to exploitation by their families. you should use the guidelines to prevent discrimination and ensure equal opportunity employment, including hiring, firing, compensation, increasing salary, recruitment, posting a job or requesting an agency’s help, benefits, disability leaves, and other terms and conditions of employment. You should create a professional hiring attitude, an unbiased work environment, and a stronger relationship with your nanny, tutor, caregiver or maid.

The other concern is sex harassment, No caregiver should be subject to unwelcome verbal or physical conduct that is sexual in nature or that shows hostility to the employee because of their gender. Sexual harassment can have devastating effects on the workplace. Family should take every step necessary to prohibit sexual harassment from occurring. You should be prepared to respond to sexual harassment in your family and explain to the caregivers about sexual harassment and what they need to do, if it happens to them!

    Tips to avoid the discriminations.

Review compensation decisions to make sure that pay discrepancies can be justified by reasons such as seniority, performance levels, skills or experience that are actually necessary for the job. Don’t jump to conclusions, giving them a chance to explain about apparent wrongdoing or the mistake, you should have a responsibility to approach the issue in a respectful, collaborative and timely manner.

Everyone has a responsibility to find solutions. hire, promote, and fire without bias When terminating a nanny, tutor or maid, give them a proper reason and give an advance notice. Treat caregivers equally, encourage diversity! I hope you found these tips useful before hiring a nanny, tutor, caregiver or maid.

What kind of training can add values to the care industry ?

    1. CPR and first aid training

Why Does My Nanny Need CPR and First Aid Training?

CPR and First aid training give nannies and parent’s reassurance that in the

case of an emergency they will have the skills to take control of the situation

and provide excellent care to the child they are taking care of and It provides

the best opportunity for a positive result. Also First aid training gives a

    employer in the workplace.

    2. Skills training

We understand that skills are very important for the nanny/maid because It is

will impact on the wages and the quality of their work.

    3. Language training

Language is an important source of communication. It allows us to share our
