Calgary city council approved a 1.6 per cent property tax increase for 2026. According to the city, the typical single-family home valued at $706,000 is expected to pay $2,741 in property taxes in 2026, an increase of $3.57 monthly. Is this still realistic or do we need to start bracing for a much bigger take hike and pay more in 2027 - or before then?
