HOW TO HANDLE BEING NERVOUS BEFORE A PERFORMANCE. Okay, so the other day I got a message about what to do, if feeling nervous before a recording. A recording can be many different things: a podcast recording, video, production, online live courses/sessions or so on - so I thought that would be a great topic to bring up and cover for this evening. This is a picture from a shooting at Mallorca, some years ago, but I still remember the excitement that arises before shooting for big clients, and therefore I find the emotional reaction exactly the same; whether it’s a recording or a photoshoot, like here. After 15 years in front of a camera (in different fields) I’ve learned a thing or to about how to handle the emotions and not letting them destroy your performance. 1. Make peace with your feelings by accepting them 2. Know that all feelings rises and passes 3. Be prepared as good as you can4. Do your best 5. Show up and give it your all 6. Dive into it ASAP and kick ass, instead of holding yourself back or waiting for your body to relax naturally. Sometimes I really find that you have to: 7.
