You can probably relate to what happened to me last week.
Here’s the scenario…I'd done a piece of work for someone and I was really pleased with it. So the next morning I opened up my email to see their response… and I burst into tears as I slowly read and re-read their reply.
My heart felt like it was being ripped out of my chest and I could feel the anger creeping in as I rushed to defend myself against their accusations. I was MAD and SAD and ugghhhhhh!
I slowly realized what was happening as I felt my heart hardening towards them, I turned to Holy Spirit and cried, “help!”
As I sat with Him, He showed me how to listen to my heart and acknowledge what was going on that was causing me so much pain. I took a few deep breaths and the hurt and anger slowly subsided enough for me to think clearly.
Holy Spirit then gently walked me through the 3 steps I share with you in today’s episode
1. Acknowledge your heart and what it’s feeling2. Let God remind you of how He sees you3. Get God’s view of the other person and follow His heart
By the time we were done, I was much calmer and I could feel the 'peace that surpasses all understanding'. I put my fingers on the keyboard and was able to reply from a calm and clear place.
How amazing is it that we get to follow the ways of Wisdom and let Him show us how to navigate each and every situation in front of us (which He’s just brilliant at doing).
