1000s of years back in India, after intense periods of stillness and Yogic practice, the rishis and sages discovered that certain sounds had the effect of clearing and purifying our energy body, including our chakras and auric field. 

They also realized that certain Sanskrit syllables when sounded created a specific frequency of vibration that cleared and balanced specific chakras.
