How to Include Holiday Meals and Treats Without Guilt

Listen Later

Let me know what you thought of this episode!

If you are planning on changing your diet or lifestyle, holiday seasons tend to be the most difficult times to start this. My approach is that all foods are “allowed” and there are no “bad foods”. It sets you up for a more sustainable lifestyle, and allows you to have a life where you are not guilty or concerned about each morsel of food you have.

This episode is to help you gear up for the upcoming Holiday Season to banish guilt with these seasonal foods. The take home message is to eat well for most of the holiday season - ie. December/Start January, but allow yourself to enjoy your favourite foods on Christmas or Boxing Day and New Years Day. Then, go back to your usual diet.

I discuss some strategies to manage this time of the year in an effort to minimise the guilt that may be associated with this holiday season. From last week’s episode, we discussed having those challenging conversations with family and friends - remember there is a great resource here to download to have when tricky situations arise

I hope you found today’s conversation helpful and practical to apply to your social outings this Christmas.
