(http://thewiredhomeschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/enhance-homeschool-youtube-1024x512.jpg)Today is DAY 1 of a special Podcast Awards (http://podcastawards.com) edition of The Wired Homechool. Over the next 15 days I’ll be sharing 15 ideas for including STEM and STEAM learning in your homeschooling.
Let’s get started!
Watch YouTube Videos
I thought I’d deal with the low-hanging fruit first: Watching YouTube videos. There are dozens of STEM- and STEAM-related YouTube channels that you and your kids can watch and enjoy. Here are five that I highly recommend:
* Smarter Every Day (https://www.youtube.com/user/destinws2)
* The Backyard Scientist (https://www.youtube.com/user/TheBackyardScientist)
* The King of Random (https://www.youtube.com/user/01032010814)
* Veritasium (https://www.youtube.com/user/1veritasium)
* SciShow for Kids (https://www.youtube.com/user/scishowkids)
STEM or STEAM Categories Included
All STEM and STEAM categories can be covered by watching videos on YouTube. Some channels even have experiments or projects you can do with your kids. Just search for your topic with the word “experiment” or “project” and you’re sure to come across something you and your kids can do together.
